About UnderCurrents

Rock, Blues, Folk, Native, Americana, Funk, Electronica, Reggae, World, Dub, Roots and Alternative. UnderCurrents is intelligent, fun, and easygoing -- diving deep to reveal your past and future favorites. Now celebrating our seventh year on national radio!

UnderCurrents is mixed by longtime radio producer Gregg McVicar (Tlingit). Among his loves are swimming, cycling, hiking, camping and attending music festivals. Gregg’s creative work has been recognized by a Peabody Award, an RTNA Golden Mic and multiple awards from the National Association of Community Broadcasters. He holds a master’s degree from the Annenberg School for Communication.

UnderCurrents is created at RadioCamp, LLC and enjoyed around the nation on 116 stations – serving a potential terrestrial radio audience of over 26 million people - and around the world via the Internet. Since Fall 2005 we’ve brought you over thirteen thousand hours of music broadcasts!

Look for us on Facebook and Twitter where you can share music ideas with other fans and Gregg.

All this production is funded by a mix of sources: stations, businesses, foundations and listeners like you. These various incomes are matched by major funding from The Corporation For Public Broadcasting. The program is distributed nationally by Native Voice One (NV1).

We aim to be both economically and environmentally sustainable. Besides a host of everyday conservation measures, RadioCamp purchases enough wind credits from Renewable Choice Energy to offset the carbon generated by the production of UnderCurrents. It’s part of our commitment to help reverse global climate change.
